Fascia-Mount Guardrail Post
$98.00
A fascia-mount guardrail post that attaches to the vertical face of a slab, deck, or rim structure — keeping the entire walking surface completely clear for work and material storage. Taller profile compensates for the lower attachment point. Powder-coated steel, compatible with HodChutes mesh fencing.
Fascia-Mount Guardrail Post
This fascia mount guardrail post attaches to the vertical face of the slab edge rather than the top surface — keeping the entire walking/working surface completely clear of post bases. It’s taller than our Bolt-Down Guardrail Post (1300 mm vs. 1100 mm) specifically to compensate for the lower attachment point on the slab face.
Why Contractors Choose This Post
- Keeps the entire deck/slab surface clear for work, material storage, and drainage
- Taller profile compensates for the lower face-mounted attachment point
- No post base to work or walk around
- Compatible with HodChutes Steel Mesh Panels via matched bracket spacing, and pairs with Top Rail, Mid Rail, and Toe Board for a complete system
- Powder-coated steel finish

Choose a Slab Grabber if: ✔ Temporary, relocatable protection ✔ Fast installation with no drilling ✔ Multi-story concrete work where posts move floor by floor

Common Questions Before Ordering
How many posts do I need for my run? You can work with our team who can review drawing and floor plans to provide quick and easy quotes based on your specific project needs.
Which mesh panels fit this post? HodChutes Steel Mesh Panel is built to the same bracket spacing (40mm width, 85mm horizontal / 120mm vertical) as this post, so they install as a matched pair.
Can I mix this with a guardrail system I already own from another brand? The bracket spacing is specific to HodChutes components. We haven’t verified compatibility with other manufacturers’ rail or mesh systems — check bracket dimensions before combining brands.
What kind of structure do I need for face-mounting? The vertical face of the slab, rim joist, or structural edge needs to be accessible and suitable for anchoring — verify your substrate before ordering if you’re unsure.
Which accessories are required to complete the system? You’ll need screws to bolt down the fascia mount guardrail post.
Typical Applications
✓ Vertical face-mounted edge protection ✓ Deck and balcony perimeter guarding ✓ Roof edge protection where surface space matters ✓ Parking garage construction ✓ Commercial building projects ✓ Multi-story construction
Why Fascia Mounting
Fascia-mount posts free up the entire deck or slab surface — no post base to work, walk, or store material around. This is the same reasoning contractors use fascia-mount posts for on decks and balconies: the connection happens at the side of the structure instead of on top of it, so drainage, membrane protection, and usable floor space aren’t compromised by a surface-mounted base plate.
OSHA generally requires fall protection under 29 CFR 1926.501 whenever employees work on a walking/working surface with an unprotected edge 6 feet or more above a lower level — a fascia-mount post is one way to meet that requirement without drilling into the top surface.

Installation Notes
Mounting hardware attaches through the vertical face of the slab or rim structure. Because the post doesn’t have the back-mounted reinforcement tube used on the Bolt-Down post, proper anchor selection and blocking (where applicable) is what carries the load — verify your substrate is suitable for face-mounted anchors before installing.

FAQs
What’s the difference between this and the Bolt-Down Guardrail Post? This post mounts to the vertical face of the slab edge, not the top surface — it keeps the walking surface completely clear, at the cost of needing access to the face of the slab for installation.
Why is this post taller than the Bolt-Down version? Because it mounts lower (on the face, not the top), the extra height keeps the top rail at the same working height once installed.
Does this work on a roof or balcony edge? Yes, provided the vertical face of the structure is accessible and suitable for anchoring.
